Community Planting Event

After the six containers were in put in place in the fall of 1998, community plantings were organized. The first took place from September 11-13, 1998, when 150 volunteers helped plant over 2,500 plants, shrubs and trees around the sculptural containers at Taylor Creek Park.

A second round of plantings took place the following spring from May 28th to 30th and June 4th to 6th, in which 3,500 more plants were planted by 200 students and their teachers from Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute, Gateway Elementary, Rawlinson Community School, and St. Denis School, 40 staff members of R.V. Anderson & Associates, their families and various individual volunteers

More planting events are being planned and more volunteers are needed. If you would like to participate in the development of a living legacy through our Community Planting Events, please provide your name and phone number by fax or email. We'll let you know the dates once they are firm.

Tools
Trowels and shovels will be provided, but it would be helpful if you could bring your own for your personal use. Gardening gloves are highly recommended.
